I'm quite pro the ID card thing. I think it's a great idea considering all that goes on today!
have a nectar, boots card and driving license oh and waterstone card. I've never suffered any direct consequences regarding the govt loosing my info so no comment.

I do not need an ID card because I know who I am. If any Policemen need to know who I am they can ask me. I do not belong to this country, I belong to myself.
The scheme to introduce the cards will cost billions of pounds, which will come out of our tax money, as if we didn't pay enough already.

i don't think that the dislike is for the card itself, but more for what the information on the card will be used for. The fact that it is a government initiative does not help either since the government has a penchant for losing valuable information on a somewhat regular basis. As a nation of consumers, not far behind the americans, the brits do more…
